Turning The Tide Youth Ministry is more than training and equiping youth to go against the flow of our worldly culture.  We are here to work to turn the tide! And one of the ministries that does that is our middle school ministry of IGNITE!

IGNITE is here to start a Jesus revolution!  We ministry exists to show how awesome, fun, and amazing God truly is!  Are you excited about God?  After coming to IGNITE, it will be hard not to be!  Our nights are full of wild and crazy games, interactive lessons, and challenging small groups.

Our theme verse is: Jeremiah 20:9, “But if I say, ‘I will not mention him or speak any more in his name,’ his word is on my heart like a fire, a fire shut up in my bones.  I am weary of holind it in; indeed, I cannot.”

This might seem like a strange verse to use as a theme.  But the meaning fits perfectly to what we are about.  You see Jeremiah, the prophet, cried out in despair mixed with praise, unburdening his heart to God.  He had faithfully proclaimed God’s word and had received nothing in return but persecution and sorrow.  Yet when he withheld God’s word for a while, it became fire in his bones until he could hold it back no longer.  When God’s living message of forgiveness and love becomes fire in our bones, we also will feel compelled to share it with others, regardless of the results.

With Ignite we are all about starting that spark that changes the world.  When a person turly experiences God’s love and forgiveness it’s impossible to hold it in and not show the world.  You see there is a big difference between the flame of a candle and the roaring blast of a forest fire.  We cannot even stand near a raging fire.  IGNITE is about starting a fiery passion for Jesus Christ.  When someone truly experiencing the life changing power of Jesus Christ they can’t help but spread that like wildfire.  So come and join us in starting a Jesus revolution!

Some of Our Yearly Activities:

-  Duct Tape Banquet (spring)

-  Retro Night (fall)

-   New Year’s Lock-In (winter)

-  The Teddybowl (late winter).  This is a special activity where we play a game of flag football but instead of using a football we use a teddybear.  (the pictures are great)

-  Others Include: Youth Mission Trips, service projects, concerts, camp outs, and various game nights!
